Nov. 19, 2012Graham's article on the genetics of invasive boa constrictors in Puerto Rico has just been accepted for publication by the journal Biological Invasions. Nov. 7, 2012Jill Newman has just published two different distribution notes in Herp Review, both courtesy of her recent internship in the Langkilde lab at Penn State. Congrats to Jill! Nov. 7, 2012phytools has a new CRAN version (v0.2-0) and new minor beta version (v0.2-04). Check out Liam's phytools blog for a description of all the new features of these phytools version. For the latest CRAN version of phytools, see the phytools CRAN page; the latest non-static minor release (still in testing) is here. Sep. 18, 2012

Dec. 16, 2011Liam's phytools manuscript is now available Online Early at MEE. Jill just learned that she will be starting an internship in the Langkilde lab at Penn State where she will be studying wood frog breeding, Cuban tree frogs, and fence lizards (in three separate studies). Congratulations to Jill! Graham has several articles in press or published, including an article recently accepted at Conservation Genetics. To find out more, check out Graham's publications page. Dec. 13, 2011Liam will be giving a participatory web seminar in collaboration with phangorn author Klaus Schliep at 2PM EST, Thursday Dec. 15, at phyloseminar.org. Note that if you are a first-timer in attending these seminars, it is wise to give yourself some time to log on to the EVO system! If you cannot attend, all seminars are also recorded. Thanks to Erick Matsen for putting together this series. Dec. 1, 2011Liam's article with Jason Kolbe and colleagues has just come out in Evolution. Also, phytools has a new CRAN version (v0.1-2). See phytools CRAN page, here. Nov. 18, 2011Liam has released a new version of the "phytools" package (v0.1-1). It can be downloaded from the phytools website, here (but not yet from CRAN). To find out about new features of this version of phytools, please see Liam's blog. Oct. 23, 2011Liam's paper with Graham Slater & colleagues on Approximate Bayesian Computation (ABC) for comparative biology is now online. Check it out here. Aug. 31, 2011New Ph.D student Kristin Winchell official started in the lab today. Kristin is interested in urban ecology of anoles. To find out more about Kristin, check out her website.
