Profile of Helena Ragone

Helena Ragone received her Ph.D. in cultural anthropology from Brown University. Her research, articles and books focus upon reproduction, e.g., surrogate motherhood, gestational surrogacy, egg donation, sperm donation, assisted reproductive technologies, family, and the intersection of assisted reproductive technologies with race in contemporary U.S. society. She has lectured extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe, most recently to present her findings on surrogate motherhood at The University of Birmingham, Birmingham England.
