Banquet Food Remnants

2nd Century AD copy of a  mosaic by Sosos

This mosaic depicts various food remnants that banqueters threw on the floor to be cleaned up by slaves or devoured by dogs.  This gives us evidence of various foods eated by the Greeks.  Identifiable remnants are a chicken breastbone, a chicken leg and foot, a fish skeleton, a crab claw, various shell fish, snail shell, two olives, and various fruit pits.
