English as a Second Language

The English as a Second Language Center serves students whose native language is not English. It offers intensive course work in the following areas: listening and speaking, and reading and writing for academic purposes. The Center also helps orient students to the University, provides them with advising information, and monitors their progress. These classes are for students who have been admitted to the university, although we do accept non-degree students if they satisfy placement criteria, and if there are available spaces.
