Graduation
The Degree Application Form must be submitted by November 15 for an expected December degree and by February 14 for an expected May/June or August degree. M.A. students must include the $100 commencement fee.
When students have completed all of their requirements -- all courses, the Thesis or Synthesis, the oral presentation, and the exit self-assessment -- the Faculty Advisor informs Graduate Records and the diploma is issued.
The Synthesis Project requires a thirty to forty-five minute presentation before
the student's advisor and reader(s) and the Synthesis Seminar Participants. The thesis requires an
oral presentation of one hour before a three person faculty committee (advisor
and two readers).
