Development, Linguistics, Culture, and Program Development Specialist for the Haitian
Language and Culture, Administrative functions include:
- Advised graduate students and developed recruiting strategies.
- Supervised graduate and undergraduate student internships.
- Assisted in proposal writing (needs assessment, data collection and conference planning).
- Developed new graduate courses in the Applied Linguistics Program
- Served on thesis and dissertation committees for graduate students.
Bilingual/Multicultural Coordinator: Coordinated and monitored programs for LEP
Students enrolled in Bilingual Education Program at the Boston Public Schools.
Assisted in grant writing initiatives for Dropout prevention. Assisted with the development and implementation of newly established bilingual programs and Developmental Two Way Bilingual Education models. September 1989 to August 1998
Program Director: Administered and supervised the E.S.L./Bilingual Curriculum for the Boston Public Schools. Responsible for program development, implementation and evaluation, staff development and curriculum development. Developed and administered the first citywide ESL Criterion Referenced Test (K- 12), June 1987 to August 1989.
Director, Summer Language Institute: Provided leadership and direction for the development of an effective summer program in Haitian-Creole language & culture at the University Massachusetts. Developed classes schedule and coordinated individual language lab instruction; supervised and evaluated teaching staff, 1984-present.
