The Panathenaic1 Way cut diagonally
across the Agora from its northwest corner to its southeast corner.
In this photograph the Panathenaic Way heads past the Stoa
of Attalus (on left) through the southeast corner of the Agora towards
the Acropolis.
Note
1. This road got its name because the great
procession of the Panathenaea took this route on its way to the Acropolis.
